Do you love your self? I would say most of us would answer yes. Were wired naturally with self preservation. So its natural that we look for ways to prolong our lives. we [well most of us] work to provide necessities for our families. ie. roof over there head, food in there bellies, school supplies, cars, gas, cloths, heat in the winter and a/c in the summer. all things that we know we need and or like to have, so we work to maintain them for our selves and our family. we worry about our health, billions of dollars are spent each year on heath. From doctors to supplements to gyms. We start to fixate on how we look, what brand of cloths we wear, how white are teeth are, what car we drive, how big our house is or what neighborhood our house is in, even competing with or neighbor for who has the nicer stuff. Then that carries over into social media. were our confidence and sadly sometimes even our self worth comes from the number of likes, followers or digital friends we have. we have become a society groomed to put self above all. First rule of most if it feels good to the flesh do it. Also as long as this benefits me the heck with everyone else. From selfies to what i identify as or with today. Has led us to were we are now the lack of compassion for our fellow man. Evident in the level of violence we see today cold blooded senseless murder, or in the fact that we would rather post a video of a man drowning then lend that man a hand or that we would stand and watch and film a woman on a subway get rapped rather then restrain the fool of a man doing it.
All of this is a foreseen downward progression. When you put self above all and remove Truth " John 16:13 But when he the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all the truth" Instead we have removed God from our society along with his morals and values and his truths absolute truths. Now were remove the truths and replace them with a lie. "Romans 1
:25 who exchange the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature [us] rather then the creator, who is blessed forever Amen". listen the flesh and the spirit war against each other, "A Godly spirit that is" because the flesh is of the world and your spirit is of God. "Galatians 5:17 for the spirit lust against the flesh and the flesh against the spirit, and these are contrary to each other, so that yo do not do the things that you wish". When you give your life to Jesus Christ who is the only way, the truth and the life. "John 14:6" you become a new creation "Galatians 3:26". and sealed with the spirit "Ephesians 1:13" and our names written in the lambs book of life "luke 10:20 and Revelation 13:8". So that we can be assured of our eternity and pick up our cross and die to self daily "Luke 9:23-25". And therefore put others before your self not fearing man or your social status or your outward appearance. But what does your inward spirit man look like? fearing the one who can kill both body and soul in hell "Matthew 10:28". Would you be willing to sacrifice something for the benefit of another? putting someone else above yourself? Telling someone of the good new of Jesus Christ the gospel "1 corinthians 15:1-4". One thing i've come to realize after i gave my life to Jesus is its easier to thank of others before myself. Also the former things that i pursued in my flesh lost there taste there excitement pretty quick, so i no longer seek to please self. But rather please the one who gave it all on that cross for me, and for you, a love like you cant imagine.
I would like to encourage you if you haven't given your life to Christ, if reading this has stirred up something in you or made you start thinking about the way you live. please know that is the Holy spirit working in you. If you would like to except Jesus as your lord and savior to make a 180 degree change in your life. Please its just ABC's. Admit that your a sinner, Believe Jesus died on that cross for you shed his blood to cover your sins and free you from the penalty which those sins carry Death, He died for you defeating death. And lastly confess him as lord and savior of your life. Pray this " Lord Jesus i know im a sinner i repent of my sins lord. I believe that you died on the cross for me shed your blood for my sins and rose again from that grave. I ask You to come into my life and confess you lord and savior Amen.
