Nope sorry not about a tv show. But about God choosing you, us. That we take joy in knowing that we were chosen by the only true and living God, the God of the universe. Jeremiah 10:10 says "But the lord is the true God He is the living God and the everlasting king." Amen,
So going back to school days. I remember certain things i was picked for. first let me say i was big and tall when i was in school, so that helped me be chosen for activities were my size could benefit others. So things like dodgeball, flag football, tug of war, red rover. Not basketball i might have been tall lol but couldnt jump or shoot a ball very well. Anyways being heavy i was mocked more then excepted in school. But no doubt about it that feeling boy that feeling when the other kids your peers. Who you wanted so desperately to accept you and be friends with you. When they would chose you over others would make your day enough to go home and tell mom or dad that you got chosen for something at school that day. Then later in life when you've earned a degree or learned a skill or trade. and your chosen above all the others for a job you really want. What a feeling to know you got the job you earned it with all your hard effort. Another would be when you meet that special someone, and you date and get to know each other and after time you get the courage to propose to her and if she says yes, that overwhelming joy you feel, Something not easy to forget. Yet even more better the best is when you develop a relationship with you only savior Jesus Christ. And you realize through walking with him and reading the living word of God that you were chosen for eternity by the eternal God. John 15:16 Jesus says "you did not choose me, but I chose you". Listen to this you were not chosen because you came, rather you came to Jesus because you were chosen. God had you and gave you to Jesus. John 6:37 Jesus says " All that the father gives me will come to me". And now the faith in you that you believe. is not a witness to any prior power in you. It is a witness to Gods choosing you. Its not a testimony to something so small as self-determination. Its a testimony to the same power that created the universe. That we were dead and now were alive. Ephesians 2:5 "even when we were dead in trespasses, "our sins" made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)". Any group or person who boasts that there is something in them that justifies his choosing. Hasent experienced it for them selves. 1 corinthians 1:29-31 " that no flesh should glory in his presence, but of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, that as it is written he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
Revel and take great joy in knowing that you were chosen by the almighty God, Boast in him and not of your selves. Think about being chosen and the wonderfulness of it grows. I urge you to let him be the lord of your life, let him be your savior. Those ABC's
Admit your a sinner and repent of those sins.
Believe that Jesus died and shed his blood for you on that cross then rose from the tomb on the 3rd day.
Confess him as lord and savior of your life.
You are never promised tomorrow not even your next hour. So why not seek your salvation through Jesus
